Meet Lisa

 

I'm a Calgary girl, born and bred.  I've raised and fed a family.  I have seen disease up close and personal and have experienced real loss.  I've worked with women, men, the young and older. 

​

I've been married to my best friend for almost 30 years, have two amazing adult daughters and a super cool dog.  I love daily walks, reading (especially cookbooks), cooking, going to Crossfit classes, running and playing golf.

​

I cook, read and learn every single day and am passionate about the connection between good nutrition and health.

​  

I firmly believe that food is fuel and can build better health.  It's not just something to keep hunger at bay.  It's something that should nourish and protect us and help us get the best out of every single day.  If you want to be productive, energetic and positive, you have to eat and live to support that. ​

​

I've spent much of my adult life focused on nutrition, but I didn't always have a clear picture of what truly matters for improving health, fitness and managing weight long term.  What I've learned is this: prioritize quality foods, address your fiber and protein needs, understand how many calories you need and make this work with foods you genuinely love.  Nothing more.  Much of the rest is just noise.  This is what it means to be Simply Well Fed.
